I am now researching the abandoned lifts on hollyburn mountain! I have located the start and finish of the original 1 seater chairlift, it was operated by Hollyburn Aerial Tramways, it was mainly built of wood, it only lasted a couple years until it burnt down. I have an old hiking map of the area which i will post on my site soon.
There is also a derilict (out of repair) inn at the bottom, access to the base of the lift is from the Cypress Parkway, 0.3km before the second switch back and down a trail. The original access road (Chairlift Road) is now privately owned, no entrance from there. The original ski area is now a XC ski area owned by cypress mountain.
